Kitchen Helper

​

Job Functions:

Our facility expects our employees to promote teamwork with other employees and hospitality and comfort for our residents.

  • Prepare and cook resident meals.

  • Prepare meals according to proper methods and cooking temperatures.

  • Clean work area and equipment in accordance with sanitation requirements.

  • Consistently prepare meals on time so that serving schedules are being met.

  • Serve food according to dietary guidelines, checking each tray for completeness and accuracy.

  • Monitor portion control guidelines for individual residents to prevent food waste.

  • Prepare foods for facility personnel, families, visitors, and for special occasions and events as directed by the administrator.

  • Prepare and serve food and meals in accordance with planned menus, diet plans, portion, and temperature control procedures and facility policies.

  • Maintain confidentiality of resident and facility records/information.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in preparing foods in large quantities.

  • Organized and detailed in work performance.

  • Good communication skills with excellent self-discipline and patience.

  • Genuine caring for and interest in elderly and disabled people in an assisted living facility.

  • Comply with the Resident's Rights and Facility Policies and Procedures.

  • Follow all kitchen safety rules.

  • Experience assisting with food preparation and meal service.

  • Prior experience preparing, cooking, and serving food.

  • Assist in the storage and supplies of food products.

  • Be able to handle daily and weekly food prep.
